New library director took post Monday
Donna Osborne of Columbus, Ga., became the director of the Berkeley County Library System Monday. Before accepting the Berkeley County job, Osborne worked in the Chattahoochee Valley Regional Library System in Georgia for 16 years, and in the six most recent years she held the title of deputy director.
"I just feel it is time for me to take what I've learned and apply it in another place," Osborne says of her leave. Osborne is excited to take on this job in "the fastest growing county in South Carolina."
Osborne received a bachelor's degree in history from LaGrange College in 1976 and a master of library science degree from Rutgers University, where she worked in the university library.
